Celebrate, Connect, Grow
2012, Textile installation
A Project for the Mental Health Week 2012, Hornsby Council, NSW, Australia
Two workshop were held for family and children enabling them to take part in the artwork, by weaving their own small piece of the web.
Participants were encouraged to bring along recycled materials that represent an important aspect of their life, such as their cultural heritage.
These material were intertwined with piece of recycle yarn, ribbon, rope, and other items.
Chosen to represent the theme of "Celebrate, Connect, Grow" the artwork is a celebration of the mind and our diversity.
The weaving connects the trees while we connect with each other.
The trees symbolise growth as we raise awareness about mental health with the growing families in Hornsby Shire.
