Simultaneous Arrivals (simularr) is an artistic research project within the Austrian Science Fund's PEEK framework (AR 714-G), running from 2022 to 2025. The project explores innovative collaborative practices, emphasizing simultaneity and spatiality as core concepts guiding artistic interaction.
In a networked world marked by global instabilities, simularr responds to the demand for shared responsibilities and transformative practices, drawing on ideas such as relaying (Isabelle Stengers) and singular plural being (Jean-Luc Nancy). It brings together artists working with installation, sound, and new media to investigate spatiality and the conditions that shape orientation and perception.
Through in-situ phases and architectural explorations, the project fosters simultaneous creative practices, creating "togetherness, at the same time." By evolving re-entry concepts, simularr contributes novel methods to artistic research, transforming artistic languages and bridging disciplines, with outcomes shared through performances, exhibitions, and publications.
